A beautiful day!

Dear Father,
Thank you for the beautiful day we had here in the south. I thank you for your love and grace on this day. I thank you that Sarah is able to campaign out in the west this weekend. I hope they will have safety in travel. Lord, I pray that she will be able to tell people what is on her heart. I pray that her speech will be clear and honest. I pray that many will think about what she has to say and make a decision to vote on November 4Th.

Lord, thank you for the rights we have in our country. I pray that many generations to come will still have the right to vote. Lord, help us to keep America a place with the freedoms we hold dear.
Lord, give the Palin family time together this weekend and help them to rest and maintain their strength for the next 32 days.
Thank you again, for a family willing to serve our country.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen

Thank you, Father, She stood her ground

Great Job Sarah!!

Our Father,
We thank you for last night. Thank you for the strength you provided. Thank you for the humor and candor. Thank you for the wisdom and clear straight talk. Thank you that what Sarah said came clearly to us with out filters. Please make know the lies that were spoken last night clear to the American people. If he is willing to lie in a debate Lord what will he do in a more important national crises? Lord make the truth come out.
I am grateful for the fact that Sarah was not fearful. She did not let others push her around. She stood her ground. Thank you for helping her to do all that she did. Thank you for answers to our prayers. Thank you that her family was beside her, it was good to know that Todd wanted her to have her family there. It was good to see Mom and Dad there to support there daughter. Thank you Lord, for Sarah.
Use her in a mighty way in the next month and the rest of her life how ever you deemed best for her and her family.
Thank you Lord. We have been blessed by you.
With a grateful heart we praise you.
In Jesus name
Amen

Three days

Today is Tuesday and we have three days to set ourselves aside for fasting and prayer. I keep thinking of Ester and Mordecai and the people who fasted for Ester before she went before the king for the sake of her people and you and I.
We have three days before the VP Debate. I feel a strong moving to Fast and Pray until the debate is through. Will you join me?

I know that God has a plan here and he is working his plan. I pray that we will continually lift up Sarah and her Family in the next three days.
Pray for:
Wisdom
Courage
Honor
Freedom to speak her heart
Freedom to be herself
Willingness to let God fill her and be her strength
To be God's vessel
To hear Godly counsel
To feel God's empowerment
To Rest

For Todd
That he will be a strong tower for her
That he will rely on God
That he will be an encourager

For the Kids
They will understand and be proud of Mom
They will encourage her
They will lean on God through this week.

Lord, over the next three days Sarah and her family will need you more than ever. You have promised in your word that we will not be tested with more than we can bare or you will create an escape. Escape does not look possible or beneficial, so Lord we ask of you to give her the wisdom, understanding, psychical strength, and the sense of your presence and comfort. Lord, I will rely on you to provide all the other things she will need. I will trust you to be faithful and I pray that not my will but thine be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Thank you Father for hearing my prayer.
I pray in the blessed name of Jesus
Amen

No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it. I Cor. 10:13 NRSV

1b. Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3a For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: Isa 43 1-3 KJV

'Before they call, I will answer. Isaiah 65:24

Isaiah 65:24

This beautiful story was written by a doctor who worked in Central Africa.

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died, leaving us with a tiny, premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive; as we had no incubator (we
had no electricity to run an incubator). We also had no special feeding facilities.

Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber perishes easily in tropical climates). 'And it is our last hot water bottle!' she exclaimed.

As in the West, it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forest pathways.

'All right,' I said, 'put the baby as near the fire as you safely can, and
sleep between the baby and the door to keep it free from drafts. Your job is to keep the baby warm.'

The following noon, as I did most days, I went to have prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose to gather with me. I gave the youngsters various suggestions of things to pray about and told them about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water bottle, and that the baby could so easily die if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old sister, crying because her mother had died.

During prayer time, one ten-year-old girl, Ruth, prayed with the usual blunt conciseness of our African children.

'Please, God' she prayed, 'Send us a hot water bottle today. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon.'

While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added, 'And while You are about it, would You please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You really love her?'

As often with children's prayers, I was put on the spot. Could I honestly say 'Amen?' I just did not believe that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that He can do everything; the Bible says so. But there are limits, aren't there? The only way God could answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel from the homeland. I had
been in Africa
for almost four years at that time, and I had never, ever, received a parcel from home. Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator!

Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was a car at my front door. By the time I reached home, the car had gone, but there on the verandah was a large 22-pound parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes.

I could not open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children. Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to tear it unduly. Excitement
was mounting. Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large cardboard box.

From the top, I lifted out brightly-colored, knitted jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out. Then there were the knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and sultanas - that would make a batch of buns for the weekend.

Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the....could it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out. Yes, a brand new, rubber hot water bottle. I cried. I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He could.

Ruth was in the front row of the children. She rushed forward, crying out, 'If God has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly, too!' Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the small, beautifully-dressed dolly. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted! Looking up at me, she asked, 'Can I go over with you and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?'

'Of course,' I replied.

That parcel had been on the way for five whole months, packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose leader had heard and obeyed God's prompting to send a hot water bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls had put in a dolly for an African child five months before, in answer to the believing prayer of a ten-year-old to bring it 'that afternoon.'

'Before they call, I will answer.' (Isaiah 65:24)

I received this story in an email and I just thought I needed to share it with you.

A new week, back on the trail

Our Father,
Thank you for who you are and how you work in our lives. Lord, I pray for our country and the choices we as a nation will make in the next few weeks. The time is short for the message of truth to be told. Raise up voices that will shout the message of truth loud and clear. Lord, I ask of you to hold back the lies and slander. Help the people of our nation to understand that we can except each others views with respect without agreeing with each other.
Lord, I see two choices before us. Lord help each person to make a choice based on facts and not fear, or untruths

Lord, Sarah and Senator McCain will speak in Ohio today. I pray for clear speech, a great connection with the people. I pray for truth to be spoken and not half trues but the whole truth. Let people see good, see hope, and desire to join in the choice of reform. I know that Sarah and Senator McCain are people just as we are and they like us have made mistakes. Lord, let us understand that any leader other than you will never do everything perfectly. Lord, let us look at their hearts and see if good is there and if their motives for this office is for the good of our people.

Lord,
I have looked at Sarah and I see a mom who loves you and her family. I see a women who desires for her kids to have a better world to live in. I see a citizen who desires for all of us to have a government that will not be corrupt and take from us but to help us be safe, and live in peace with ourselves and our neighbors. I see a person who desires for the nations of this world to protect us from those who desire to harm us. I thank you for what I see. Give her truth and wisdom today.

Help Sarah as she prepares for the debate on Thursday and Lord, I pray that you will give her the freedom to speak her heart and the wisdom to do so. Thank you for giving her the courage to run for VP.
Lord, I pray that your will be done for her and our nation.
I pray all of this in Jesus Name
Amen

On this Lord's Day, He gives us Peace

Good Morning Lord,
I pray that to day we rest in You, and take the time to worship you. Thank you Lord for those who have prepared for this day so that we may worship. Lord, I pray that the Palin Family will be able to worship you. Provide for them your rest and peace. Lord, I continue to pray for the protection and proclamation of Truth. I pray that only truth will come from Sarah and the Family. I pray that her words will not be misused or misquoted. I pray that she and her family will be protected from the hate of this world. Keep her in perfect peace as she rest in you. Oh Lord, I thank you for providing us your peace. Thank you for your promise of peace. Lord, I read John 14:27 back to You. You said "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Thank you Jesus for keeping your promises.
I pray in the Name of Jesus who gives me peace.
Amen
